The lights are low and the temperature is rising, you slowly
make your move after gathering your courage. Everything is
set and you eye the bed. The excitement is mounting and your
heartbeat is steadily rising, only, something else isn't ...
How embarrassing. How humiliating. Where do
you go from here? Don't hang (pun intended) your head in shame.
This situation occurs more frequently than you might imagine
and the fact that you are reading this right now only makes
you a drop in an ocean full of men that have suffered from
this condition.
Erectile Dysfunction (ED), commonly known as
impotency (though ED is preferred since impotence has a negative
connotation) is defined as the inability to achieve or maintain
an erection sufficient for mutually satisfying intercourse.
Although a person might have had trouble a few times, it isn't
considered impotence unless it happens 25% of the time with
ongoing frequency and consistency.
In the U.S. alone, as many as 20 million men suffer from ED.
Of the men affected, only one out of 20 seeks medical help.
Impotence most commonly occurs in men between the ages of
40-70 but this doesn't mean that men out of this range aren’t
vulnerable to mishaps in the bedroom. 30% of all men have
admitted to experiencing impotence in some ways shape or form
(you know who you are).
ED has significant effects on all areas of a
man's life starting with his emotional stability and his self-esteem.
Once this tragic cycle occurs, it is hard to recover as mental
problems contribute to physical problems and vice versa. As
devastating as Erectile Dysfunction is, it can be conquered.
